It's hard to believe but Christmas is now less than a month away. As is traditional CALM will be undertaking a major fundraising event at the Morrison's supermarket in Thames Avenue, Haydon Wick in the run up to the festive period.

In recent years, thanks to the hard work of our families, friends, volunteers and supporters this event has become one of our best fundraisers in the calendar. In previous years the bag pack has taken place on a Saturday, but because Christmas day is on a Friday this year, we've decided to do something different.

This year's bag pack will take place on Wednesday 23rd December 2009, from 9am until 9pm. As has been the case in the past, ensuring there are sufficient volunteers to man the day is a major undertaking. That's why I'd urge you to check your availability for the day and then get in contact with Sam Jarvis who has kindly agreed to organise the rota.

Can I take the opportunity to urge all of you to do your best to find an hour or two in the day to help out. Can I suggest that you also pass this on to as many people on your contact list as possible. The more people who can lend a hand, the better.
