New College is proud to donate £5,000 to local charity CALM (Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement), to help continue their great work in the region.

The College has been supporting CALM for the last three years, and so far has donated £13,000 to the charity.

CALM works within the Swindon and Malborough NHS Trust to help families affected by Cancer and Leukaemia in children and young people.

Staff at New College has been raising money for CALM through raffles, quiz nights, gift sales, theatre trips, bus trips to London and other fundraising activities throughout the year.

Barbara Kimber, PA to the Principal at New College who has been spearheading the fundraising, said: “Everyone at New College has been pulling together to raise the money for this great cause, and we’re delighted with the amount donated.”

Also this month, New College has donated £488 to help the cause in Haiti.

Health Care Students and members of staff dug deep in their pockets to raise the money following the disaster in January.

CALM (Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Movement) is an independent local charity working within the Swindon and Malborough NHS Trust.
